Fun Filled Weekend

This has been a very rare 'free' weekend at the Carleton house.  Although there is always plenty to do around the house or in the yard we had no plans, no parties and nowhere to travel to so we decided to take advantage of an amazing 60 degree day and head into Manhattan.  Although our original plan was to head to central park we ended up in the village where we spent the afternoon enjoying the beautiful weather, had a fantastic lunch at one of our favorite restaurants and then after heading back to Newton to check on Max and get Andrew some dinner it was off to Newark for Andrew's first basketball game.  Although it wasn't the Celtics (although Andrew was wearing his Celtic green with pride) we had gotten some fantastic (and free) tickets from Mike's boss so we went to see the game with some of his coworkers.  Andrew seemed to have a great time and staid awake for the entire game!  Here are some pictures from his VERY busy Saturday.

The day started off so warm you didn't even need a jacket.

Lunch at Lupa in the village.. DELICIOUS Italian food.  Andrew discovered he is a big fan of both foccacia and gnocchi.

hmmm.. do you have any more of that foccacia over there??

Who wants to eat baby food with all this yummy food around?!

Andrew is VERY good at napping on the go.

Nets vs. Magic at the new Prudential Center in Newark.

Apparently the crowd is more interesting than the game.

This morning we met up with the Roes family for breakfast with Andrew's friends Ethan and Brandon.. after a nice long nap Andrew headed back outside to play for a while and enjoy what was left of his VERY fun weekend!

Every time I think it would be fun to get a christmas card picture of Andrew and his buddy Max I realize the execution of this might very well be IMPOSSIBLE!

Normally when ANYONE goes near Max's cage he gets all stressed out.  This weekend it is temporarily in the living room and apparently Andrew is allowed to play with it, put toys in, take toys out and Max could care less.

One of these days Andrew is going to realize there is NOTHING stopping him from running around the house except for his refusal to walk unless he is holding on to something.  Every so often he takes a few steps before he realizes he isn't holding on but its definitely just an accident.
