This has been quite a week in New Jersey. Overnight Monday hurricane Sandy struck with a vengeance leaving the majority of NJ without power and with severe damage to their homes. We were VERY lucky and made it through the storm without any damage. The power went out Monday night and wasn't back on until Wednesday morning and although that's a long time to go without lights, heat, etc. it was not nearly as long as a lot of people we know... some of whom are still without electricity and heat this weekend. We hope everyone is back up and running soon.
Day care has been closed all week but we went back to work on Thursday so we've been trying to keep the boys entertained while getting work done. It has been an interesting few days and I know that Andrew will be very excited to get back to school on Monday. Halloween should have been on Wednesday but in NJ it will be celebrated on November 5th this year. I'm sure it will be just as fun as it would have been on the 31st.
Here are some pictures of our week.
After a few days in the house Andrew finally got out to run around the yard. Unfortunately there was so much debris the cozy coupe has been relocated to the front hallway where you can actually drive around.

Heading outside to check things out early in the storm
What do you do when day care is closed and you have to work? Improvise :-) Sometimes working from home comes in handy.
Enjoying the window markers Noah got him for his birthday
Celebrating Halloween even though it was moved to Monday
Wednesday we headed out for gas.... this was a SHORT line, only waited about an hour. As of today your license plate number dictates when you can get gas and the lines are still very long but we managed to get both tanks filled.

Saturday we headed out for a hike and a trip to the park!!
Luckily Andrew got plenty of art supplies and play doh for his birthday that have helped keep him busy.
Enjoying a bottle after his hike
