Easter in D.C. - 2014

Last Friday we packed up the boys and headed to D.C. for Easter with the family. They had a great time and the Easter bunny was very good to them.

A trip to the park...

First trip on the subway...

A walk around the monuments... well, some of us walked.

Easter!

Beautiful Saturday Part 2

After the egg hunt and park this morning there was a trip to the grocery store, some lunch, a nap and then back outside for a couple of hours of playing in the sun!

Easter Egg Hunt

This morning was the annual Newton Easter Egg Hunt and the boys got to see the Easter bunny.  The Easter egg hunt is more of an Easter egg "grab" where they fill a field with eggs, block off sections by age (1 and 2 year olds were in one section, 3 and 4 year olds  in another) and when the whistle blows every kid races out and grabs as many eggs as they can.  There were a lot of 3 and 4 year olds so none of them got too many eggs but the small group of 1 and 2 year olds led to quite the haul for Dylan.

Ready to go

Here comes the bunny

Someone finished with quite a haul!!

Once the "hunt" was over we headed over to play at the park for a while because it is a BEAUTIFUL day out.

Look at that face!

Soccer!!

This week Andrew had his first soccer practice! On Sunday we went out and bought new cleats, shin guards and a ball and last night he met his team for their first practice. I think it is going to take him a little while to warm up to the new kids and the concept of organized sports but he had fun and hopefully with a little bit of practice he really enjoys it.

Dylan spent the hour playing with his soccer ball and screaming that he wanted to play 'OVER THERE!!' while pointing to the field. It may be a LONG two year until Dylan is old enough to play on his own team. He also decided he was interested in the roller hockey game that was taking place near the field. He is going to be quite a handful ;-)

Wednesday at practice, picture quality isn't great but you get the idea.
